ENMORE PARISH COUNCIL Planning Applications

Enmore Parish Council is a statutory consultee on all planning applications made to Somerset County Council (before Somerset became a unitary authority applications were made to Sedgemoor District Council) as the Planning Authority. The Parish Council is invited to consider and comment on all development within the Parish and may decide to support or object depending on local policies and guidelines as to what is a pertinent observation. The Parish Council is advisory only and it is the Development Management Committee of Somerset who make the final decision and if there is no objection from statutory bodies may be made by delegated authority to planning officials. All applications are included in a standing agenda item at Parish Council meetings and, should the Parish object to a particularly contentious application, the Clerk or Chairman can make representation at the relevant Planning meeting. Members of the Public and interested parties (the applicant or their agent) may speak for 3 minutes at Public Question Time within the Parish Council meeting which considers the application.

Digital copies of all planning applications, information on the planning process and guidance may be found on View and comment on a planning application (somerset.gov.uk).  Enmore residents who wish to be alerted to new planning applications affecting Enmore should contact the Parish Clerk on enmorepc@gmail.com or the Responsible Financial Officer on financeenmorepc@gmail.com and ask to be added to the relevant email mailing list.   Please note that the Planning Department have informed us that only adjacent properties will be notified of planning applications and that other nearby properties may not receive notification.

 

Members of the public may make direct representation to the planning authority online using the link given above, by email on planningcommentsnorth@somerset.gov.uk or through the Parish Council Clerk.
